5 Mysterio-ous Facts About Spider-Man: Far From Home!
Peter Parker debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2016, and since then he’s gone from being a friendly neigbourhood Spider-Man to an international Avenger. On 4 July, Tom Holland returns alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders in Spider-Man: Far From Home, which will also introduce Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio. Before you put on your web shooters and swing down to VOX Cinemas, check out these 5 Mysterio-ous facts about Spider-Man: Far From Home.
5. First Look at the Universe Post-Endgame
Avengers: Endgame took the world by storm and left us with some burning questions. One being: *Spoiler alert* How will Peter Parker deal with Tony Stark’s death? Trailers suggest that Peter is struggling to cope with the loss of Tony and the rather large shoes he has to fill.
4. Superhero Fatigue?
According to Tom Holland, Peter is tired of being Spider-Man. He wants to live a normal 16-year-old life with his friends without the responsibility that comes with the Spider-Man mantle.
3. Mysteries Around Mysterio
Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Quentin Beck (AKA Mysterio), a man who appears to have mystical powers akin to Doctor Strange. In the comics, Mysterio is one of Spider-Man’s recurring villains who has a knack for creating special effects to give off the illusion that he is superpowered. Will Mysterio stick to his comic book origins, or will he surprise us as an unlikely hero?
2. The Element-als of Surprise
Spider-Man: Far From Home brings the extra-dimensional humanoids known as The Elementals to Earth. We don’t know much about their role in the film except that each of them represents an element (earth, water, fire and air). Could they be the film’s greatest foes, or could there be something more sinister?
1. Spider-Man: Into the Multiverse
In the trailer, Mysterio tells Peter that he is from Earth – only not our Earth. He claims to be from Earth-833 while Peter is from Earth-616. In the Marvel Comics, Earth-616 is the established main universe where most of the events and storylines take place. If Mysterio’s claims are true, this would introduce the Multiverse to the MCU. Fun fact: the term Multiverse refers to the collection of all alternate universes within a single universe.
