Can the new love in his life help him find his true self once more? A surprisingly inspiring film that is well-acted with plenty of light comedy moments. It's no surprise that this addition to our Deepika Padukone filmography has won multiple awards.

Bajirao Mastani – 2015 – 7.2

A sweeping cinematographic experience that deserves a place on any must-watch film list.

Love Aaj Kal is a heartwarming yet surprisingly deep look at this idea as a man who firmly believes in love tells his tale to a young man who has just had his heart broken. The film looks at the true nature of love and whether two people who travel to opposite sides of the world can be reunited once again.

Om Shanti Om – 2007 – 6.8

Om Shanti Om is an interesting concept. Initially, it appears to be a simple love story, but this lively and colourful movie takes the theme of reincarnation as its driving force. Om, a wannabe actor, is murdered but immediately reincarnated. However, 40 years have passed and as well as trying to cope with the culture shock of a very different world, he also has to try and find out who murdered him and why, as well as finding his former sweetheart Shanti, played by Deepika Padukone.

Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela – 2013 – 6.4

The eternal tale,  Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela is a modern take on Romeo and Juliet but with a distinctive Bollywood reworking. While the sets may be extravagant and the visual presentation a feast for the eyes, at its heart this is still the classic story that resonates down the ages of two young people from opposite sides of the divide falling in love. 

Cocktail – 2012 – 6.3

Three very different individuals, Gautam Khanna (Saif Ali Khan), Veronica D'Costa (Deepika Padukone) and Meera Gupta (Diana Penty), become entangled in a love triangle that becomes increasingly complicated as more characters are introduced into the mix. Cocktail examines how different personalities attract, while rivalry can bring out the best and worst in individuals. Will true love ever prevail in such a complex situation? Cocktail allows Deepika to really show her range as an actor and is one of the best Deepika Padukone movies of all time.

Chennai Express – 2013 – 6.1

This multi-award-winning film is a comedy-drama that will have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. When a man sets out on a long train journey, he finds himself in hot water when a beautiful and sassy woman walks into his life. What he doesn’t realise is that she is the daughter of a crime don, and there are plenty of heavily armed henchmen who want to see her, and now our hero, dead. Chennai Express keeps the action piled on, along with some wonderfully funny and light moments to create a well-balanced and thoroughly enjoyable film.
