Spider-Man: No Way Home – 2021 – 8.2

The Spider-Man franchise has to be one of the most successful Marvel creations in recent years, introducing a whole new generation of comic-book fans to a rich and complex world. In No Way Home, Peter Parker's secret – that he is really Spider-Man – is revealed, putting him and those around him in danger. Doctor Strange attempts to turn the situation on its head by making the entire world forget this fact, but a startling turn of events shatters the multiverse, opening the floodgates that allow horrific monsters to cross the divide. Zendaya revives her role as MJ in a thrilling and critically acclaimed action film.

Dune: Part One – 2021 – 8.0

The original Dune (directed by David Lynch) was one of the biggest critical flops of all time, so it was with a sigh of relief that fans of the book welcomed this well-received remake. Dune: Part One sees Paul Atreides travel to the galaxy’s most dangerous planet, where both the environment and conflicting forces aim to destroy him and all he represents. Add in a precious commodity that could transform humanity and you have the setting for an epic showdown.

The Greatest Showman – 2017 – 7.5

A wonderfully embellished biography of the legendary P.T. Barnum, The Greatest Showman is a celebration of a wild and colourful world where Barnum, the ultimate Ringmaster, blurs the line between the imagination and reality. Is the circus he takes on the road simply a freakshow? And could ambition and a yearning to appeal to a more high-brow audience leave Barnum and those who rely on him for their livelihoods broken and discarded? The Greatest Showman isn't just about circus performers but how class distinctions can throw up divisions and barriers.

Spider-Man: Homecoming – 2017 – 7.4

As Peter Parker gradually comes to terms with his new role as Spider-Man, a new menace stalks the streets and challenges the young superhero. The villain attacks Spider-Man in the most brutal way possible - by targeting those Parker loves most. Zendaya once again plays MJ, making this exciting adventure a natural addition to any Zendaya movies list.

Malcolm & Marie – 2021 – 6.6

Set over a single night, this intense film noir sees Malcolm, a filmmaker, and his girlfriend Marie go through a rollercoaster of emotions. The filmmaker, teetering on the brink of international success and fame, finds that revelations closer to home hit hard and test the resolve and the bond between Malcolm and Marie almost to breaking point. It is a bold and atmospheric film that relies solely on the performance of just two actors, who bring a very personal level of emotional intensity into every moment.

Smallfoot – 2018 - 6.6

This delightfully whimsical animation is a family treat. A secret community of Yetis live a quiet life, undisturbed by humans. Then, a plane crashes and the emergence of 'Smallfoot', a legendary creature to the Yetis in the same way that they are to humans, rocks the foundations of their society. Migo, the central character in this delightful film, risks alienation and banishment from his community for claiming to have found a Smallfoot (a young human boy he befriends). This is a feel-good film for a family movie afternoon and suitable for young children.

Duck Duck Goose – 2018 – 5.7

This quirky (or quacky!) little film is a charming animation that utilises the voice-over skills of Zendaya and other well-known stars such as Jim Gaffigan, Greg Proops, and Stephen Fry. When Peng, a lazy goose who would rather practice acrobatics than get ready for migration, causes chaos by crashlanding into a flock of ducklings, he accidentally sets off a chain of events that teaches him some serious life lessons. Two ducklings take care of him as he recovers from his injuries; from them, he learns how important family and love are. A sweet film that showcases Zendaya's versatility as an actor.

Zapped – 2014 – 5.0

Winning a clutch of Young Artist Awards and Leo Awards in 2015, Zapped is a relatable film for teenagers and younger viewers. 16-year-old Zoey’s life is turned upside down as she tries to adjust to life with a new stepfather, three new stepbrothers, and a move to a new high school. This straight-A student also has to cope with the world’s worst-behaved dog. But when she discovers an app on her phone that not only controls the dog, but everyone else around her, things start to get really interesting!

Spider-Man: Far From Home – 2019 – 7.4

Another outing from Spider-Man to add to the list of top Zendaya movies, with the actor building on her MJ character once again. Parker joins MJ, Ned and friends on a relaxing holiday to Europe. However, before he can jet off to exotic locations, Nick Fury calls on his alter-ego Spider-Man to help prevent several interdimensional creatures from destroying the planet. A more action-focused episode of Spider-Man compared to previous films, but a great family watch nevertheless. Some scenes may not be suitable for younger viewers.

Frenemies – 2012 – 5.0

This TV movie is one of Zendaya's earliest outings, demonstrating just how much potential she had as an actor right from the beginning. Frenemies will appeal to teenagers as it examines the ups and downs of relationships between friends as they grow. With a tagline of 'Geek vs Chic', this is the quintessential school geek and the popular girl tale, beautifully portrayed by Zendaya as the geek and Bella Thorne as the chic character.
